Critical Perspectives - Shape of your Proposal


  • You do not need to tackle topics that are way too big
  • Or far too small 
The proposal will be approx 2000 words

Intro will include
  • Introduce and explain main focus and aims
  • Clarify areas of research 
  • A brief overview of the discussion
The main body will include:
  • Chapter 1: Beginning: Definitions of terms used in the questions. Basic Theory. Background info.
  • Chapter 2: Build on C1 Info, Application of theory, any info and ideas that need to be discussed before the question can be fully answered 
  • Chapter 3: The end. Where the question is fully answered or the aim is fully realised. 
  • Conclusion: Remind the viewer of the aims and the questions you were intending to answer
  • Highlight the key findings
  • Discuss 
Make sure it is/has
  • in a logical order
  • identified info and evidence
  • Main focus
  • areas of research
Expectations
  • Star with a clear, focused and research informed question
  • Be theoretically informed
  • Opportunities for analysing viewpoints and evidence
  • Be focused and specific and have a clear articulated aim 
Avoid the question being:
  • Thought up
  • Already knowing the answer
  • ???
